Dolphin Show!

It doesn’t matter how many times we go sailing, when the dolphins are cruising in our bow wake … or even someone else’s wake in the ICW, it’s always magic and always makes our day.  David shouts DOLPHINS from behind the wheel, I see a dolphin pirouette out of the water and run down the companionway for my camera.

Of course, as I emerge, the show is over and I just get to watch mundane dolphins swimming, not pirouetting completely out of the water.  Naturally, I missed the best shot, but at least I can prove there were dolphins!

We’re anchored out, there are fireworks over the horizon and all is well.  Hopefully  we can explore for a few weeks, although David’s recovering from being sick and he gave it to my 92 year old Dad… so we’ll see how long this lasts.  Keep your fingers crossed!    Cheers!  Jan

P.S.  Did I mention the moon is smiling and the stars are magnificent tonight?  🙂

  1. Enjoy then now while you still can in the Gulf of Mexico. Last month we traveled from Grand Isle, La. crossing the Mississippi River in Venice and then from Gulf Port to LuLu’s in Gulf Shores, Alabama and saw only 1 dolphin. I have been seeing fewer and fewer of these beautiful creatures in Grand Isle.

    • So very scary! We had dolphins everywhere again today as we sailed north and when we anchored at Stump Pass — I know it doesn’t sound like a cool place, but it really is! I love dolphins, I hope they’re not on the decline here. Thanks for posting Andy! Cheers — Jan
