The marina is filling up for the holidays. The locals tell us that the week between Christmas and New Years is the busiest week of the year in Key West – even busier than FantasyFest (Halloween). And the boats are flooding in – by Christmas every slip in this marina will be full… and we’re not talking about small boats like us!
For perspective, here’s an aerial of the marina showing the empty T dock which is the fuel dock. Mega-yachts sit at this fuel dock for hours taking on fuel. Think of how much money the marina must be losing by not being able to sell fuel to the big guys. Guess this guys slip fees are worth it!
Yep, that LONG T Dock in the center is the fuel dock where the mega-yacht (240 feet) is sitting. And here’s its “little sister”, Butterfly – “only” 125 feet long and reportedly worth $25 million.
Think I should offer to trade these guys s/v Winterlude for their mega-yacht?
Nah, come to think of it, I wouldn’t trade them the adventures and everyday fun we have for any amount of money… Everyone has their own definition of fun … as for me, s/v Winterlude = Priceless. Enjoy your holidays! Cheers! Jan
