Roller Furling Red-Bellied Woodpecker?

Yesterday I found this little lady pecking away at the piling beside our boat … which was fun and I took her photo.  She’s a female red-bellied woodpecker and she feasts on insects (and fruit, berries etc) for dinner.  But later, she was pecking away at the top of another boat’s roller furling which I can’t imagine would have a good ending …   GO AWAY!!!

I think she was telling them that there are still a few bugs in the furler system…

  2. Not good! I’ll think about your woodpecker friend and smile a little more next time I’m cleaning off Mr. Osprey’s droppings – http://is.gd/mrosprey 🙂

    • Dunno Rich — we just returned to the boat and it’s COVERED with BS. Ospreys and cormorants can be entertaining, but they sure are messy! 🙁 Clean up time … but maybe first thing manana… grandkiddos & Disney wore us out! Cheers! Jan
