  1. Jan, i made the Tuxedo Soup just last weekend aboard our IP32. It was really, really good! I made a few changes:
    1. one finely chopped carrot
    2. canned green chili peppers, instead of the bell pepper
    3. one can of chicken broth instead of fluid in the white and black bean cans

    Great recipe and a fantastic cook book. I tell everybody about your book.

    • Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I usually make changes depending on what I have on hand — I’ve used a carrot, and canned green chilis, but never tried chicken broth instead of the bean fluid. In a pinch I’ve even been known to make the recipe with one black or white bean can and one kidney bean can because I didn’t have the correct colors. It was still pretty tasty, just not black and white. 🙂 I’m really glad you enjoy the cookbook! Cheers! Jan
