Waiting …. Need a Cruising Fix….

We’re in waiting mode — pretty much all our boat projects (at least those that we put on this fall’s list) are complete – boat cleaned, sails on and reef points in, systems checked and functioning, diesel recommissioned, 2 coats of varnish, impeller, oil & filters changed, anchor light fixed and new Icom SSB mike cords received.

Winterlude in Savannah Bight, Guanaja in the Bay Islands of Honduras -- anchored at Josh Cay to be exact. Oh to be there now....

But we’re missing two critical items to leave this dock — one is our 2001 Tohatsu 8 outboard which needed some TLC .   The other is the hydraulic cylinder for our below decks autopilot which was leaking oil and needed the seals replaced.

Both are with our diesel mechanic waiting on parts.  In the meantime, a cold front came through last night and the wind is howling and the day is gray and dreary….   I need a cruising fix!  For now, a photo will have to suffice ….

That’s the problem with advanced equipment – it always needs to be repaired! 😉
