Today’s the day. Later today we’ll walk down the dock to the boat … finally. I’m keeping my fingers crossed we don’t find any big headaches since we’d like to be ready to head out in a couple weeks, at least to get away from the dock … if not more.
We know we need to work on our autopilot which was unhappy with working for more than a short time – we think it needs a drink — i.e. more hydraulic fluid.. Hopefully that’s all.
We also know our transmission is leaking, but since we plan to haul out for next summer, hopefully we can just keep feeding it transmission fluid for one more season.
And neighbors have been telling us we have an osprey nest on top of the mast … that would be BAD … what a mess and what a hassle replacing all the instruments it has probably destroyed. Keeping my fingers crossed someone’s pulling our leg. Covered with birdcrap is one thing (wishful thinking the Shadetree Shades kept some of it off?) but broken masthead everything would not be a good welcome home….
…. Anticipation … anticipation … the song keeps replaying in my head….. SO EXCITED!!!
