A cold front came through yesterday. It was forecast to have significant rain and wind and the delivery David was supposed to do got postponed to another day.
So we had a leisurely lunch at Pincher’s Crab Shack complete with 2 for 1 happy hour which always makes us happy, then raided Trader Joe’s for some yummy stuff, and WalMart for some essentials, and back to the boat.
On our walk around the marina – our marina has two basins, with about a mile walkway surrounding the two and providing a wonderful place to wander, look at boats and get a bit of exercise – David lamented that had we known it wasn’t going to rain all day, we could have gotten the varnish prep wet sanding done today.
Yep, we could have … but we didn’t! Have to save something for tomorrow! Besides, Windfinder tells us it’s going to be blowing for the next few days, so there’s no hurry. Sunny, 80 and blowing 25 is fine here in the marina with my 400 grit wetsand paper. Hopefully by Tuesday the varnish will have two more coats. And the major chores will be done … well, except for the windlass, but it works, so that one doesn’t count…
And maybe when the wind lets up, we can go sailing & get out of the marina for a bit! We had hoped to already be out anchored on a test trip, but just when we’re ready, the weather gets in the way.
