It’s that time of year … waning summer and time for transitions. This year will be different than most to allow exploring the inside of the US, instead of the outside. We’re excited, our #Lance1685 travel trailer is packed and ready to head west. But first, one last soirre at the lake – with all the grandkids, grandpuppy (and kids too) – days filled with skiing and water sports, laughter & smiles and evenings filled with campfires, s’mores and camaraderie.
Then we’ll hitch up the truck to the travel trailer to find bison and prairie dogs amid Badlands and Wind Cave National Parks and Custer State Park. After South Dakota, we’ll venture northward to North Dakota to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Then further afield and west to Glacier National Park (and friends that abandoned us several years ago at the lake to move to Whitefish MT). Southeast to Rocky Mountain National Park and a visit with son Billy. Finally we’ll stop for a sailing fix in landlocked Wichita with some cruising friends. 🙂 Should be a fun filled month.
One of the major lifestyle benefits of being a Commuter Cruiser (even if temporarily boatless) is enjoying summers skiing at the lake and exploring the US National Parks (where sadly, s/v Winterlude could not take us) in our travel trailer.
